Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
3 to 4 pounds beef brisket 15 ounce can tomato sauce 1/3 cup A1 Thick & Hearty steak sauce 2 tbsp. brown sugar 1 tbsp. lemon juice 1 tsp. concentrated hickory seasoning 1 tsp. garlic powder 1/4 tsp. tabasco or other hot sauce 1 tbsp. all purpose flour 2 tbsp. water
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place brisket, fat side up, in a large roasting pan. Blend together tomato sauce, steak sauce, sugar, lemon juice, hickory seasoning, garlic powder and hot sauce. Pour over brisket. Cover tightly with foil. Bake about 3 hours until tender, basting occasionally. Transfer pan liquid to a large saucepan. Stir together flour and water until smooth. Add to liquid in saucepan and cook until thickened, stirring occasionally. Slice brisket and serve with sauce.
Serves 6 to 8.
