Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 cup butter, softened 1/ cup sugar 2 tsp. finely grated orange peel 1/2 tsp. orange extract 1 large egg yolk 3 tbsp. heavy or whipping cream 1 1/2 cups bittersweet or semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour a large sheet pan. Whisk together flour, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl. Beat together butter, sugar, orange peel and extract in a large bowl until fluffy. Beat in yolks and cream. Add flour mixture and beat until moist clumps form. Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto prepared pan, spacing 3/4 inch apart. Flatten each cookie to 1/2 inch thick round. Bake cookies about 15 to 18 minutes until golden. Transfer cookies to racks and cool completely. Store at room temperature in an airtight container.
Makes about 1 1/2 dozen cookies.
