Cheesecake Batter: 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened 1/3 cup sugar 3/4 tsp. finely grated orange peel 1 large egg 1 tbsp. all purpose flour
Brownie Batter: 6 tbsp. butter, diced 2 ounces chopped unsweetened chocolate 2 ounces chopped bittersweet chocolate 1 cup sugar 1 tsp. vanilla extract 2 large eggs 2/3 cup all purpose flour 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour a 9 inch square baking pan.
For Cheesecake Batter: Stir together cream cheese, sugar and orange peel in a medium bowl until smooth. Stir in egg and flour until well blended.
For Brownie Batter: Combine butter and both chocolates in a medium saucepan, stirring over low heat until smooth. Cool chocolate mixture 10 minutes. Stir in sugar and vanilla. Stir in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in flour and salt until combined.
Spread brownie batter in the prepared pan. Drop spoonfuls of cheesecake batter and swirl with the tip of a knife. Bake brownies about 50 minutes until cheesecake batter is pale golden and a toothpick comes out clean. Transfer brownies to a rack and cool completely before cutting into bars.
