Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
2 cups all purpose flour 1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. ground cloves 1 1/4 cups dark brown sugar 1 cup butter, room temperature 1/3 cup dark corn syrup 1 large egg 2 tsp. vanilla extract 2 cups old-fashioned oats 1 cup chopped pitted dates 1 cup raisins 3/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease cookie sheets. Sift together flour, cinnamon, baking soda and cloves in a medium bowl. Stir in salt. Combine butter and sugar in a large bowl and beat until well blended. Beat in corn syrup, egg and vanilla. Gradually mix in flour mixture. Stir in oats, dates, raisins and nuts until blended. Drop dough by tablespoonfuls, spacing 2 inches apart, onto prepared pans. Bake about 15 minutes until cookies are golden brown on edges. Transfer cookies to racks and cool completely. Store cookies at room temperature in an airtight container.
Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
