Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
2 pounds beef stew meat chunks 1 medium onion, peeled and diced 1/2 cup diced celery 1 tbsp. sugar 1 cup beef broth 1 cup canned chopped tomatoes 4 medium carrots, peeled and chopped 3 medium russet potatoes, peeled and cubed 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 1/2 tsp. pepper
Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Lightly coat the inside of a large, deep casserole dish with cooking spray. Combine stew meat, onion, celery, sugar, broth, tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, salt, garlic powder and pepper in a large bowl. Stir until well mixed. Pour the stew mixture into the prepared dish. Cover dish and bake stew 3 hours 45 minutes without opening oven or stirring.
Remove the stew from the oven, stir and serve immediately.
Serves 6 to 8.
