Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
8 cups rolled oats 2 cups bran 3 cups wheat germ 3 cups shredded coconut 2 cups brown sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1 cup water 1/2 cup vegetable oil 1 tbsp. vanilla extract 1 cup chopped dates 1 cup chopped pecans 1 cup raisins 1 cup chopped dried apricots
Directions
Combine oats, bran, wheat germ, coconut, brown sugar and salt in a large bowl. Stir well. Stir together water, oil and vanilla in a small bowl. Stir into cereal mixture. Spread in a thin layer on a nonstick sheet pan. Bake 45 minutes, stirring frequently. Cool cereal on pan. Transfer mixture to a large bowl and add dates, pecans, raisins and apricots. Toss well to blend. Store in an airtight container in a cool dry place.
Serves 12 to 15.
