Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
Filling: 2 1/2 pounds Granny Smith apples, cored, peeled and thinly sliced 11 ounce package butterscotch morsels 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup all purpose flour 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
Topping: 1/2 cup all purpose flour 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup cold butter, diced 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts 3/4 cup old fashioned oats
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Coat the inside of a 13x9 inch baking pan with cooking spray. Layer apple slices in the prepared pan. Stir together butterscotch morsels, brown sugar, flour and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Sprinkle morsel mixture evenly over apples. Bake 20 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare topping.
For Topping: Combine flour and brown sugar in a food processor. Pulse to blend. Add butter and pulse until butter is blended and topping is crumbly. Add nuts and oats and pulse until just combined. Sprinkle topping evenly over the baked apple layer. Bake 30 to 40 minutes until apples are cooked and topping is golden. Transfer crisp to a rack and cool slightly before serving.
Serves 6 to 8.
