Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 cup butter, room temperature 1 cup brown sugar 1 large egg yolk 1 tsp. vanilla extract 2 cups all purpose flour 1/4 tsp. salt four 1.45 ounce milk chocolate Hershey bars, separated into squares 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease the inside of a 9x13 inch baking pan. Combine the butter, brown sugar, egg yolk and vanilla in a large bowl and beat until smooth. Add the flour and salt and stir until well blended. Pat the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake about 25 minutes until golden. Remove the bars from the oven and immediately place the chocolate squares evenly over the top. Let the chocolate stand about 5 minutes until softened. Spread the chocolate over the top of the bars. Sprinkle the pecans over the chocolate. Cut into 1 1/2 inch bars while still warm. Cool the bars completely before storing in an airtight container.
Makes about 3 dozen bars.
