Long John Silver's(R) Batter Dipped Fish Recipe Rating: N/A

Ingredients   (view qty in metric system instead)
3 cups soybean oil
2 pounds fresh cod fillets
1 1/3 cups self rising flour
1 cup water
1 large egg
2 tsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt

Directions
Preheat oil in a deep pan to 400 degrees. Cut fish into 7x2 inch wedges. Beat together flour, water, egg, sugar and salt. Dip each cod fillet into batter, coating generously, and fry until dark golden brown, about 5 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Makes 4 portions.
