Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
Dough: 1/4 ounce package active dry yeast 3/4 cup warm water(110 to 115 degrees) 2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. olive oil
Topping: 1 small onion, peeled and thinly sliced 1 clove garlic, peeled and minced 2 tbsp. olive oil 2 tomatoes, peeled, seeded and chopped 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. dried basil 1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese 8 ounces raw medium shrimp, shelled and deveined 8 ounces sea scallops, halved 2 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
For Dough: Oil a sheet pan or round pizza pan. Place warm water in a small bowl and sprinkle yeast over. Let stand about 5 minutes until foamy. Combine flour and salt in a food processor. Add the yeast mixture and blend. Add olive oil and process until a ball forms. Process dough an additional 30 seconds. Transfer dough to a large oiled bowl. Turn dough to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm area, about 1 to 1 1/2 hours, until doubled. Turn risen dough out onto a floured surface and knead briefly until smooth. Roll dough out to a 12 inch circle and transfer to the prepared pan.
For Topping: Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Combine the onion, garlic and olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium high heat. Cook about 3 to 5 minutes until onion is softened, stirring occasionally. Add tomatoes, crushed pepper flakes, salt and basil. Reduce heat to medium low and simmer sauce about 10 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally. Spread the sauce evenly over the prepared crust, leaving a 1 inch margin all around. Sprinkle the Mozzarella evenly over the sauce. Top with the shrimp and scallops. Sprinkle with Parmesan. Bake pizza about 12 to 15 minutes until crust is browned and cheese is bubbly. Let pizza stand a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Serves 4 to 6.
