7.25 ounce package Kraft macaroni and cheese1 pound ground beef 15 ounce can red kidney beans, drained 8 ounce bottle French salad dressing 1/2 cup peeled, chopped onion 1 tbsp. chili powder 6 corn tortillas vegetable oil 1 1/2 cups shredded lettuce 1 cup diced tomato 1 cup sour cream
Directions
Prepare macaroni and cheese according to package directions. Meanwhile, brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium high heat, breaking up clumps. Drain the fat from the skillet. Add kidney beans, French dressing, onion and chili powder to the skillet. Reduce heat to medium, cover and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour vegetable oil into a large skillet to a depth of 1/4 inch. Heat oil to 350 degrees over medium high heat. Fry 1 tortilla at a time until crisp and golden, turning once. Drain tortillas on paper towels.
For tostadas: Divide the lettuce between 6 plates. Place 1 tortilla on each plate. Divide the prepared macaroni and cheese, chili beef mixture, tomato and sour cream between tortillas. Serve immediately.
Serves 6.
