Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
Sauce: 1 1/4 cups sugar 1 cup soy sauce 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup sesame oil 1/4 cup hot chili sauce such as Sambal Olek 4 green onions, chopped 6 cloves garlic, chopped 1 tbsp. peeled minced fresh ginger 1 cup + 1 tbsp. water 1 tbsp. cornstarch
2 large racks baby back ribs, about 2 pounds each
Directions
For Sauce: Whisk together sugar, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, chili sauce, green onions, garlic, ginger and 1 cup water in a large saucepan. Whisk together cornstarch and 1 tbsp. water in a small bowl until smooth. Whisk into sauce and heat to a boil, whisking constantly. Boil until sauce thickens, whisking occasionally, about 1 minute. Remove from heat.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a large sheet pan with foil. Place a large rack on top of foil. Place ribs on rack. Brush each rack with 6 tbsp. sauce. Cover with foil and bake 60 minutes. Uncover ribs and baste with sauce. Bake, uncovered, about 30 minutes until ribs are tender and glazed. Heat remaining sauce and serve with ribs.
Serves 4 to 6.
