Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 cup all purpose flour 2 cups whole wheat flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup margarine, softened 2 large eggs 3 cups buttermilk
Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease a tube or bundt pan. Stir together both flours, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar in a large bowl. Cut in butter to form pea sized crumbs. Stir in eggs and buttermilk to make a soft dough. Stir well to combine. Transfer dough to the prepared pan. Bake about 35 to 45 minutes until bread is browned and a toothpick comes out clean. Transfer pan to a rack and cool 20 minutes. Invert pan and remove. Cool bread completely.
Makes 1 loaf.
