Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
Muffins: 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1/2 cup sugar 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg 1/2 tsp. ground allspice 1 large egg, beaten to blend 1/2 cup milk 1/3 cup melted margarine
Topping: 2 tbsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/4 cup melted margarine
Directions
For Muffins: Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Lightly gease or line two 12 cup mini muffin tins with mini muffin papers. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and allspice in a large bowl. Stir together the egg and melted margarine in a small bowl. Stir egg mixture into dry ingredients until evenly moistened. Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups. Bake muffins about 12 to 14 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
For Topping: Stir together the cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl. Brush the tops of the warm muffins with melted butter and sprinkle liberally with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Serve muffins warm or at room temperature. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
Makes about 24 mini muffins.
