Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 cup butter or margarine, softened 3 ounces cream cheese, softened 3/4 cup sugar 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 large egg 3 cups all purpose flour 1/8 tsp. salt
Directions
Beat together butter or margarine, cream cheese, sugar, vanilla and egg in a large bowl until fluffy. Stir in flour and salt. Cover and refrigerate dough at least 2 hours or overnight. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Roll out 1/4 of dough to 1/8 inch thick. Cut into shapes with cookie cutters. Transfer cookies to an ungreased cookie sheet, spacing 1 inch apart. Bake cookies 7 to 10 minutes until lightly browned. Cool cookies completely on racks. Frost and decorate if desired.
Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
