Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
4 New York strips, about 5 to 6 ounces each 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce, divided 4 hoagie or other sandwich rolls, split open 8 slices sharp Cheddar cheese 1 1/2 cups guacamole 4 thick slices grilled red onion 8 slices tomato 8 lettuce leaves
Directions
Preheat grill. Grill steaks to desired doneness, basting frequently with 1 cup of the barbecue sauce. Meanwhile, preheat broiler. Place Place 1 piece of cheese on each half of each roll. Place rolls on a broiler pan. Broil rolls about 1 minute until cheese is melted. Spread guacamole over the cheese on each roll. Slice each grilled steak into 6 to 8 pieces. Place steak on bottom halves of rolls. Drizzle remaining barbecue sauce over steak. Top each sandwich with 1 slice grilled onion, 2 slices tomato and 2 lettuce leaves. Cover with top halves of rolls and serve.
Makes 4 sandwiches.
