Brownies: 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 cup butter 4 ounces chopped semisweet chocolate 1 1/3 cups sugar 3 large eggs, beaten to blend 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1/2 cup husked, chopped hazelnuts 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Glaze: 8 ounces chopped semisweet chocolate 1/4 cup hazelnut liqueur
Directions
For Brownies: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 10 inch springform pan. Stir together flour, baking powder and salt in a small bowl. Combine chopped chocolate and butter in a small saucepan. Melt over low heat, stirring until smooth. Transfer chocolate mixture to a large bowl. Add sugar and stir 2 minutes. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Continue beating 2 minutes. Stir in hazelnuts and chocolate chips. Stir in flour mixture until combined. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake about 45 minutes until top is dry. Transfer pan to a rack and cool brownie completely.
For Glaze: Place the chocolate in the top of a double boiler over simmering water. Melt and stir until smooth. Add hazelnut liqueur and stir until smooth. Pour the glaze over the cooled brownie and spread evenly. Let stand about 1 hour until glaze is set.
Remove pan sides and slice glazed brownie into wedges with a hot knife.
Serves 6 to 8.
