Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 pound lean ground beef 1 small onion, peeled and chopped 1 tsp. minced garlic 15 ounce can tomato sauce 14 1/2 ounce can chopped tomatoes with juices 4 cups water 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 tbsp. worcestershire sauce 1 bay leaf 1 cup peeled and sliced carrots 11 ounce can corn kernels, drained and rinsed 1/3 cup uncooked rice
Directions
Combine ground beef, onion and garlic in a large pot and cook 6 minutes until beef is browned. Drain fat from pan. Add tomato sauce, chopped tomatoes with juices, water, salt, pepper, worcestershire, bay leaf and carrots and heat to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer soup 10 minutes. Add corn kernels and rice. Simmer 30 to 40 minutes until rice is cooked and carrots are tender.
Serves 6 to 8.
