Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
4 quarts popped popcorn 2 cups dry roasted peanuts 1 1/3 cups sugar 1 1/3 cups brown sugar 1 cup dark corn syrup 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup butter 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 cups candy corn
Directions
Combine popcorn and peanuts in a large buttered bowl. Combine both sugars, corn syrup, water, butter and salt in a large bowl. Cook over medium heat until a candy thermometer reads 285 degrees, stirring occasionally. Pour over popcorn mixture and stir gently to coat. Stir in candy corn. Drop in bite-size pieces onto wax paper. Cool completely. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
Makes about 6 quarts.
