Crisps: 2 prepared frozen 9 inch pie crusts, thawed all purpose flour for rolling 2 tbsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
Dip: 6 medium granny smith apples, peeled and chopped 3/4 cup sugar 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/4 cup butter 1/4 cup all purpose flour 1 cup cold water
Directions
For Crisps: Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Roll out pie crusts on a floured surface to 1/8 inch thick. Stir together sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over dough. Cut into shapes with floured 2 1/2 inch diameter Halloween-shaped cookie cutters. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake 4 to 6 minutes until lightly browned. Cool completely on a rack.
For Dip: Heat butter in a large skillet. Add apples, sugar and cinnamon and cook until apples are tender. Stir together flour and water until smooth. Add to skillet and heat to a boil. Cook, stirring, 2 minutes until thickened. Transfer to a serving bowl. Serve warm with crisps.
Makes about 3 cups dip and 2 to 3 dozen crisps.
