Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 1/2 pounds ground beef 1 large onion, peeled and chopped 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper 1 can condensed chicken gumbo soup 1/2 cup ketchup 1/4 cup brown sugar 3 tbsp. cider vinegar 1 tbsp. prepared horseradish 1 bay leaf 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 12 hamburger buns
Directions
Combine beef, onion and bell pepper in a large skillet. Cook over medium heat until beef is browned, stirring frequently. Drain fat from pan. Stir in soup, ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, horseradish, bay leaf, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Discard bay leaf. Spoon sloppy joe mixture onto buns and serve.
Makes 12 sloppy joes.
