Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1/4 cup butter 1 large shallot, peeled and thinly sliced 8 ounces medium fresh mushrooms, stems removed 1 small onion, peeled and thinly sliced 1 pound ground beef 3/4 tsp. pepper 4 ounces garlic and herb cream cheese 4 hamburger buns, split and toasted
Directions
Prepare grill. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add shallots and cook until tender, about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add mushrooms and cook about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender. Mix together ground beef and pepper in a medium bowl. Form beef into 4 patties. Grill burgers about 3 1/2 minutes per side for medium. Spread 1 tbsp. cream cheese over each bottom bun half. Place burgers on cheese. Spread 1 tbsp. cream cheese over each burger. Top with onion slices and spoon mushroom mixture over. Top with bun tops and serve.
Makes 4 burgers.
