Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
Mustard Butter: 1/2 cup softened butter 1/4 cup whole-grain mustard 1/4 tsp. salt
Sandwiches: 6 slices country-style bread 6 thin slices gruyere cheese 6 slices Black Forest ham or prosciutto
Directions
For Butter: Stir together butter, mustard and salt in a small bowl.
For Sandwiches: Spread bread slices on both sides with butter. Place half of cheese slices on 3 bread slices. Place 2 slices ham on each sandwich then top with remaining cheese. Top sandwiches with remaining bread slices. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add sandwiches and cook until bread is toasted and golden and cheese is melted through, about 3 to 4 minutes per side.
Makes 3 sandwiches.
