Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 3/4 pounds ground chicken 1/2 cup chopped onion 1/2 tsp. crumbled dried thyme 1 cup prepared barbecue sauce 6 slices Cheddar cheese 6 hamburger buns, split and toasted 6 slices tomato 6 lettuce leaves
Directions
Line a sheet pan with plastic wrap. Mix together ground chicken, onion and thyme in a medium bowl. Form into six, 1/2 inch patties. Place patties on the prepared pan and refrigerate while grill is heating.
Place prepared patties on an oiled grill rack. Cover and grill burgers over medium heat, turning occasionally and basting with barbecue sauce, about 5 minutes per side until cooked through. Top each burger with 1 slice Cheddar cheese. Cover and grill burgers an additional minute until cheese is melted. Transfer burgers to buns and top with tomato slices and lettuce leaves. Serve immediately with any remaining barbecue sauce.
Makes 6 cheeseburgers.
