Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
Filling: 8 ounces dried figs, stemmed and quartered 3 tbsp. water 3 large Granny Smith apples, cored, peeled and thickly sliced 1 tbsp. all purpose flour 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon 2 tbsp. honey 1 tbsp. butter
Topping: 2/3 cup all purpose flour 1/3 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup sugar 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/8 tsp. salt 6 tbsp. butter, diced
Directions
For Filling: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat the inside of an 8 inch square baking dish with cooking spray. Combine the quartered figs and water in a microwaveable bowl. Cover and microwave 2 minutes on High. Let figs stand 5 minutes. Stir until most of liquid is absorbed. Combine apple slices, flour and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Toss well to coat apples. Transfer apples to the prepared dish and spread evenly. Combine honey and butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Cook, stirring, until butter is melted. Drizzle the honey mixture over the apples. Spread the figs evenly over the apple layer.
For Topping: Stir together flour, both sugars, cinnamon and salt in a medium bowl. Cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the figs. Bake crumble about 40 minutes until filling is bubbly and topping is golden brown. Transfer crumble to a rack and cool slightly before serving. Serve warm.
Serves 6 to 8.
