2 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 cup butter, room temperature 1 cup brown sugar 3/4 cup light corn syrup 1 large egg 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 cup chopped pecans 8 ounces German sweet chocolate, chopped, divided
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl. Combine butter and brown sugar in a large bowl and beat until fluffy. Gradually beat in corn syrup. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add the flour mixture and beat until blended. Stir in pecans and 1/2 of the German chocolate chunks. Spread the batter evenly an ungreased 15x10 inch jelly roll pan. Sprinkle the remaining German chocolate chunks evenly over the top of the batter. Bake about 30 minutes until lightly browned. Transfer pan to a rack and cool completely. Cut into bars. Store bars in an airtight container in a cool place.
