Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
Crust: 1 package German chocolate cake mix 1/3 cup margarine, softened 1 large egg
Filling: 16 ounces cream cheese, room temperature 2 large eggs 3/4 cup sugar 2 tsp. vanilla extract
Topping: 2 cups sour cream 1/4 cup sugar 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions
For Crust: Grease the inside of a 13x9 inch baking pan. Combine cake mix, margarine and egg in a large bowl and mix until crumbly. Press the crust mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
For Filling: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat together cream cheese, eggs, sugar and vanilla in a large bowl until smooth and fluffy. Spread the filling mixture evenly over the prepared crust. Bake cheesecake about 20 to 25 minutes until edges are browned.
For Topping: Stir together sour cream, sugar and vanilla in a medium bowl until smooth. Spread the topping over the warm cheesecake. Bake an additional 5 minutes until topping is set. Remove cheesecake from the oven and refrigerate at least 8 hours before slicing and serving.
Serves 8.
