1 tsp. melted butter 1/2 cup all purpose flour 1/8 tsp. salt 6 ounces chopped bittersweet chocolate 12 tbsp. diced butter 3 large eggs 1 cup sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract 2/3 cup chopped, lightly toasted hazelnuts
Directions
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Line the inside of an 8x8 inch square baking pan with foil. Brush foil with melted butter. Whisk together flour and salt in a small bowl. Combine chocolate and diced butter in the top of a double boiler over simmering water. Melt, stirring often, until smooth. Beat together eggs and sugar in a medium bowl until light and fluffy. Reduce mixer to low and beat in melted chocolate mixture and vanilla. Add flour mixture and blend 30 seconds. Stir in hazelnuts. Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake 50 to 60 minutes until top is dry. Cool brownies completely in pan. Remove brownies from pan using foil as an aid. Peel off foil and cut brownies into bars.
Makes about 1 to 1 1/2 dozen brownies.
