Soy-Ginger Sauce:
1 tbsp. peeled fresh ginger, minced
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
3 tbsp. all purpose flour
2 cups chicken broth
1/4 cup soy sauce

Steak:
1/4 cup minced garlic
1/4 cup grated fresh ginger
1 tbsp. Chinese five-spice powder
1 tbsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
12 New York strip or strip loin steaks
3/4 cup sliced green onion

Directions
For Sauce:
Heat oil over medium heat in a large skillet. Add ginger and cook 3 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in flour. Gradually whisk in broth and soy sauce. Cook, whisking constantly, until sauce is thickened. Strain sauce and keep warm.

For Steak:
Stir together garlic, ginger, five-spice powder, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Season both sides of each steak with 1 tsp. spice mixture. Place steaks in a large pan. Cover and refrigerate 2 to 3 hours.
