Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
Filling: 1 cup dried figs, stemmed and quartered hot water 3 large pears, cored, peeled and sliced 1/3 cup sugar 2 tbsp. melted butter 1 tbsp. all purpose flour 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
Topping: 1 cup all purpose flour 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 cup cold butter, diced
Directions
For Filling: Place figs in a small bowl and add hot water to cover. Let stand about 20 minutes until figs are softened. Drain well. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a shallow 8x8 inch baking dish. Toss together pears, sugar, melted butter, flour and cinnamon in a large bowl. Transfer pear mixture to prepared dish and sprinkle drained figs evenly over.
For Topping: Combine flour, both sugars, cinnamon and salt in a large bowl. Cut in butter until coarse meal forms. Sprinkle topping over filling and bake about 45 minutes until pears are tender and topping is golden brown. Cool slightly before serving.
Serves 6.
