Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 cup ketchup 1/2 cup white vinegar 1/2 cup onion, chopped 1/4 cup dark, unsulfured molasses 1/4 cup honey 1/4 cup currant jelly 2 tbsp. soy sauce 1 tbsp. chopped fresh garlic 1 tsp. dry mustard 1 tsp. ground ginger 3 to 3 1/2 pounds pork spareribs, cut into 2 rib sections
Directions
Stir together ketchup, vinegar, onion, molasses, honey, currant jelly, soy sauce, garlic, mustard and ginger in a large pot. Heat to a boil over medium high heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to medium and simmer 5 minutes. Add spareribs and stir to coat. Cover and simmer about 45 minutes until ribs are almost tender, stirring occasionally.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a rimmed sheet pan with cooking spray. Remove ribs from the sauce and transfer to the prepared pan. Bake ribs 10 minutes. Meanwhile, return sauce to a boil. Boil until reduced to 2 cups, about 10 minutes. Spoon a thick layer of reduced sauce over ribs. Bake an additional 20 minutes until ribs are glazed and very tender. Serve hot.
