Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 cup butter, softened 1 cup brown sugar 3/4 cup dark corn syrup 1 large egg 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 cup chopped pecans 8 ounces semisweet chocolate chunks
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl. Beat together butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in corn syrup, egg and vanilla. Add flour mixture and beat until blended. Stir in the pecans and 4 ounces of the chocolate chunks. Spread batter evenly in an ungreased 15x10 inch jelly roll pan. Sprinkle remaining chocolate chunks evenly over the batter. Bake 30 minutes until lightly browned. Transfer pan to a rack and cool completely. Cut into 2 1/2 inch squares.
Makes about 2 dozen squares.
