Ingredients   (view qty in metric system instead)
1 cup butter, chopped
4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
4 large eggs
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 tbsp. raspberry liqueur, divided
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup all purpose flour
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
1/2 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup seedless raspberry preserves

Directions
Combine the butter and unsweetened chocolate in the top of a double boiler over simmering water. Melt chocolate and stir until smooth. Remove the chocolate from over the water and let stand until cooled to lukewarm.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly coat the inside of a 13x9 inch baking pan with cooking spray. Whisk together eggs and sugar in a large bowl. Whisk in the melted chocolate mixture until combined. Whisk in vanilla, 1 tbsp. raspberry liqueur and salt. Add flour in 3 additions. Fold in the walnuts and chocolate chips. Spread half of the batter in the prepared pan. Stir together the raspberry preserves and remaining 1 tbsp. raspberry liqueur in a small bowl. Spread the preserve mixture over the batter in the pan. Freeze 20 minutes until the preserve layer is set. Spread the remaining brownie batter over the preserves. Bake brownies about 45 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Transfer pan to a rack and cool brownies completely. Cut brownies into squares and serve.

Makes about 2 1/2 dozen brownies.
