Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
3 cups cake flour 1 cup butter, softened 3 cups sugar 7 large eggs 1 cup heavy or whipping cream 2 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions
Butter and flour a 10 inch tube pan. Sift flour twice into a medium bowl. Beat together butter and sugar in a large bowl. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in half of flour, then cream. Beat in remaining flour. Continue beating 5 minutes on high speed. Beat in vanilla. Pour batter into the prepared pan. Place cake in a cold oven. Turn oven on to 350 degrees. Bake cake about 60 to 75 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Transfer pan to a rack and cool 5 minutes. Remove cake from the pan and cool completely. Wrap cake airtight and store at room temperature.
Serves 8 to 10.
