Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
2 pound head green cabbage, outer leaves discarded, quartered, cored and thinly sliced 3 medium carrots, peeled and shredded 1/3 cup finely chopped green onion 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 cup cider vinegar 1/4 cup sugar 2 tbsp. peeled, minced fresh ginger 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
Directions
Toss together sliced cabbage, shredded carrots, green onions and salt in a large bowl. Let stand 5 minutes. Combine vinegar, sugar, ginger and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan. Heat to a boil, stirring, over medium heat. Pour hot vinegar mixture over slaw and toss to coat.
Serves 4 to 6.
