1 cup buttermilk 8 chicken drumsticks 1 cup all purpose flour 2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 tsp. pepper 1 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper vegetable oil
Directions
Place buttermilk in a large bowl. Add drumsticks and turn to coat. Cover and let stand 1 hour at room temperature. Stir together flour, salt and pepper in a medium bowl. Add drumsticks to flour mixture, one at a time, and toss to coat. Transfer coated chicken to a rack and let stand 10 to 15 minutes, turning once. Add oil to a large saucepan to a depth of 3 inches. Heat oil to 350 degrees over medium heat. Working in 2 batches, add chicken to the oil and fry about 10 minutes until browned and cooked through. Drain chicken on paper towels and serve.
