Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 1/2 ounces chopped bittersweet chocolate 1/2 tsp. finely grated orange peel 1 sheet frozen, thawed puff pastry 1 large egg, beaten to blend 2 tsp. sugar
Directions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Butter a large sheet pan. Stir together chocolate and orange peel in a small bowl. Cut the puff pastry sheet into 4 squares. Brush the edges of the pastry squares with some of the beaten egg. Place 1/4 of the chocolate orange mixture into the middle of each square. Fold each square in half diagonally to form triangles. Press the edges of the pastry together to seal. Transfer the turnovers to the prepared pan. Brush the tops of the turnovers with egg and sprinkle with sugar. Cut a small slit in the top of each turnover. Bake turnovers about 12 to 14 minutes until golden brown. Let turnovers cool a few minutes before serving. Serve warm.
Makes 4 turnovers.
