Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 cup maple syrup 3 tbsp. butter, divided 2 tsp. ground cinnamon, divided 3 large eggs 1 cup heavy or whipping cream 2 tsp. vanilla extract four 1 inch thick slices cinnamon bread
Directions
Combine syrup, 1 tbsp. butter and 1 tsp. cinnamon in a medium saucepan and heat to a boil. Boil mixture 2 minutes. Whisk together eggs, cream, vanilla, 3 tbsp. syrup mixture and remaining 1 tsp. cinnamon in a large bowl. Place bread slices in a large baking dish. Pour egg mixture over bread, turning to coat. Poke bread in four or five places with a fork. Let bread soak 5 minutes. Melt 1 tbsp. butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add bread and cook about 3 minutes on 1 side until browned. Add remaining 1 tbsp. butter and turn bread over. Cook bread until browned. Serve with remaining syrup.
Serves 2 to 4.
