Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
2 envelopes granulated gelatin 1/2 cup cold water 4 cups milk 2 cups sugar 2 tsp. vanilla extract 1/2 tsp. salt 3 cups heavy or whipping cream
Directions
Place cold water in a small bowl and stir in gelatin. Let mixture stand 5 minutes. Heat milk in a medium saucepan just until hot-Don't boil. Remove milk from heat. Stir in gelatin mixture, sugar, vanilla and salt. Cool mixture completely in the refrigerator or over an ice bath. Stir in cream. Process in an ice cream maker according to manufacturers instructions.
Makes about 2 quarts ice cream.
