Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
2/3 cup solid vegetable shortening 1/2 cup butter, room temperature 2 cups brown sugar 1 large egg 1 tsp. cider vinegar 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 3 cups rolled oats 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat together shortening, butter and sugar until fluffy. Blend in egg, vinegar, baking soda and salt. Add oats and flour. Roll into 1 1/2 inch balls. Flatten with bottom of glass dipped in sugar. Bake about 15 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool . Store at room temp. in covered airtight container.
Makes approx. 3 dozen cookies.
