Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
4 firm red or green tomatoes, sliced 3/4 inch thick 1 large egg, beaten to blend 1 cup dry breadcrumbs 1/3 cup butter or margarine 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper
Directions
Dip tomato slices into beaten egg. Dredge with crumbs to coat. Melt butter or margarine in a large skillet. Add breaded tomato slices and cook on both sides until golden brown. Season with salt and pepper. Serve immediately.
Serves 4 to 6.
