Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
3 tbsp. butter 4 large onions, peeled and thinly sliced 1 tsp. caraway seeds 1 clove garlic, minced 1 tsp. dried dill weed 1/2 tsp. pepper 2 1/2 pounds pork shoulder, cubed 1/2 cup water 1 tbsp. paprika 1 pound prepared sauerkraut 1/2 cup sour cream
Directions
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onions and cook 8 to 10 minutes until tender and browned. Stir in caraway seeds, garlic, dill and pepper. Transfer onion mixture to a crockpot. Layer pork cubes over top. Pour in water. Sprinkle paprika over pork and layer sauerkraut over. Cover and cook 6 to 8 hours on low until pork is tender. Stir in sour cream just before serving.
Serves 6 to 8.
