Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1/2 cup milk 2 slices white bread 1 1/2 pounds ground beef 2 large eggs, beaten to blend 1 small onion, peeled and grated 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 1 tsp. dry mustard 12 ounce can whole tomatoes
Directions
Combine milk and bread in a large bowl. Let stand until milk is absorbed. Using forks, break the bread into crumbs. Add beef and mix until well combined. Make a hollow in the middle of the meat mixture. Add eggs, onion, salt, pepper and mustard. Mix well with beef. Shape into a round loaf and place in a crockpot. Place tomatoes over top. Cover and cook on low 5 to 7 hours. Uncover and turn heat to high. Cook until liquid is thickened.
Serves 6 to 8.
