Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
2 tbsp. all purpose flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 2 pounds beef round steak cut into 4 pieces 2 tbsp. butter 1/2 cup chopped onion 14.5 ounce can stewed tomatoes 1 1/2 tsp. white vinegar 2 cups beef broth
Directions
Stir together flour, salt and pepper in a pie plate. Dredge the round steak in the flour mixture to coat. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the round steak and onions to the skillet and cook about 5 minutes until the meat is browned on both sides, turning frequently. Transfer the browned round steak to a crock pot. Add the stewed tomatoes with juices, vinegar and broth. Cover and cook on Low 6 to 8 hours or 3 to 4 hours on High until meat is tender and sauce is thickened.
Serves 4.
