Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
4 quarts popped popcorn 1 cup spanish peanuts 4 tbsp. butter 1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup light corn syrup 1/8 cup molasses 1/4 tsp. salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Combine popcorn and peanuts on a sheet pan and place in the oven. Mix together butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, molasses and salt in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring. Boil until a candy thermometer reads 260 degrees(hard ball stage). Remove popcorn mixture from oven and pour caramel over. Return to oven and bake another 15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes to evenly coat popcorn. Cool. Store tightly covered.
Makes 4 quarts.
