Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
4 pounds pork spareribs 2 tbsp. vegetable oil 1 small onion, peeled and thinly sliced 3 red apples, peeled, cored and cubed 1 large can sauerkraut 1 1/2 tbsp. caraway seeds 1 cup tomato juice
Directions
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add spareribs and brown on both sides. Transfer ribs to a large roasting pan. Layer onion slices, apples and sauerkraut over ribs. Sprinkle with caraway seeds and drizzle with tomato juice. Cover pan tightly with foil. Bake about 90 minutes until spareribs are tender and cooked through.
Serves 6 to 8.
