Country Apple and Cheddar Cobbler Recipe Rating: N/A

Ingredients   (view qty in metric system instead)
Filling:
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
2 tbsp. quick cooking tapioca
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
6 cups thinly sliced Granny Smith apples

Topping:
1 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup melted butter
1/4 cup milk
1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions
For Filling:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease an 8 inch baking dish. Combine sugar, water, tapioca and cinnamon in a large saucepan. Heat to a boil, stirring occasionally, over medium heat. Remove pan from the heat and stir in apple slices until coated. Pour filling into the prepared dish.

For Topping:
Combine the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in a small bowl. Stir in the melted butter and milk until evenly moistened. Fold in Cheddar and walnuts. Sprinkle topping over filling.

Bake cobbler 30 to 35 minutes until filling is bubbly. Serve warm.

Serves 6 to 8.
