Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour 3/4 cup finely crushed cornflakes cereal 1 tbsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 2 large eggs, separated 1 3/4 cups milk 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Directions
Combine flour, crushed cornflakes, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. In a medium bowl, beat egg yolks to blend. Add milk and vegetable oil. Stir yolk mixture into flour mixture. Beat egg whites in a small bowl to stiff peaks. Fold beaten whites into flour mixture until just combined-don't over mix. Preheat a lightly greased waffle iron. Pour batter onto griddle. Close lid quickly. Cook waffles about 3 to 4 minutes until golden and cooked through. Do not lift lid during cooking.
Makes about 12 to 16 waffles.
