12 tbsp. melted butter, divided 1 1/3 cups sugar 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract 3 large eggs 2/3 cup all purpose flour 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 cup sweetened flaked coconut 3/4 cup chopped pecans 1/4 cup brown sugar
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour the inside of a 9 inch square baking pan. Mix together 10 tbsp. melted butter, sugar and vanilla in a large bowl. Stir in eggs one at a time. Sift together flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl. Stir the flour mixture into the batter until well combined. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Stir together coconut, pecans, brown sugar and remaining 2 tbsp. melted butter in a medium bowl. Sprinkle the coconut mixture over the brownie batter. Bake brownies about 30 to 35 minutes until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs. Transfer pan to a rack and cool brownies completely. Cut brownies into squares and store in an airtight container in a cool place.
