Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
2 cups heavy or whipping cream 1 cup half and half 6 large egg yolks 1/2 cup sugar 1 tsp. ground nutmeg plus additional for sprinkling 6 tbsp. dry sherry
Directions
Combine cream and half and half in a large saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium low heat. Meanwhile, whisk together yolks and sugar in a large bowl. Whisk the hot cream into the yolk mixture. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook, stirring, without boiling until thickened. Strain the mixture into the bowl. Stir in 1 tsp. nutmeg. Let stand a few minutes. Divide eggnog between 6 glasses. Stir 1 tbsp. sherry into each glass. Sprinkle with additional nutmeg and serve.
Serves 6.
